About Dr. Rizwan Mian
Dr. Rizwan Mian has been practicing reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgery in the Lower Mainland since 1999. He is the Head of the Division of Plastic Surgery at the Fraser Health Authority and is the Chief of Surgery at the Jim Pattison Outpatient Care and Surgical Centre. He has served on the Provincial Plastic Surgery Executive for six years and is Clinical Instructor in the Division of Plastic Surgery at UBC.
Dividing his time between reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgery, Dr. Mian works at the Royal Columbian, Surrey Memorial, and Eagle Ridge hospitals as well as the Jim Pattison Outpatient Care and Surgical Centre. He also carries out cosmetic surgery at local private clinics.
Born, raised, and educated in Nova Scotia, Dr. Mian attended the University of King’s College for his undergraduate studies and went on to graduate Cum Laude from Dalhousie University School of Medicine. Dr. Mian completed his residency in Plastic Surgery at the University of Western Ontario, and then received a Master of Surgery degree for his work in tissue engineering at the Bernard O’Brien Institute of Microsurgery at the University of Melbourne.
Dr. Mian is married to a local physician and has three children. He has been traveling globally for the last decade with a local medical relief organization, where he donates his time to treat children with cleft lips and palates and hand deformities.
